Abstract:

Liver cancer is a common malignant tumor, whose invasiveness and complex pathogenesis determine the difficulty of subsequent treatment.Autophagy, a process by which cells degrade their own damaged proteins or organelles for recycling, plays an important role in the regulation of intracellular homeostasis. At present, the mechanism of autophagy in the development of liver cancer remains unclear.Studies have shown that some molecules or drugs can promote or inhibit the survival of liver cancer cells by regulating the autophagy pathway. This review was aimed at summarizing the role of autophagy in the progression of liver cancer and exploring new ideas for cancer diagnosis and treatment by sorting out these molecules and drugs.
