Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the changes of fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation in patients with postpartum psychosis in resting-state.

Methods

Twelve patients with postpartum psychosis and 14 volunteers matched with age, breast feeding, mode of production, education and primipara(control group)were collected in the 960th Hospital of PLA Joint Logistics Support Force from January 2020 to January 2021.Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-fMRI)data were used to compare fALFF differences in the whole brain of the two groups, and the correlation between fALFF value of postpartum psychosis group with significant differences and the score of the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scales(BPRS)was analyzed.

Results

fALLF values of the parahippocampal gyrus and cingulate gyrus were significantly higher in the postpartum psychosis group than those in the control group(individual voxel P<0.05, voxel value≥55, AlphaSim correction), and there was no correlation with the BPRS score.

Conclusion

Postpartum psychosis can cause aberrant neuronal activity in the limbic system, which is helpful to understand the altered nature of brain neurological function in postpartum psychosis patients.

Key words: Postpartum psychosis, Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging, Fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation
