Abstract:

Objective

To explore the effect of contrast ultrasonography in the diagnosis of Hirschsprung′s disease in children.

Methods

A retrospective analysis was performed on 30 children with Hirschsprung′s disease diagnosed by operation in Dongguan Eighth People′s Hospital from Jauly 2019 to August 2022.All the children were examined by contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and X-ray, and the results were analyzed.

Results

In terms of diagnostic accuracy, the accuracy of X-ray examination was 66.67%(20/30, 10 cases were missed, including 8 cases of ultra-short segment type and 2 cases of focal type of ascending colon), and the accuracy of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography examination was 93.33%(28/30, missed diagnosis was 2 cases of focal type of ascending colon), which was significantly higher than that of X-ray examination(P<0.05).Typical patients with Hirschsprung′s disease, according to the length and location of Hirschsprung′s disease, presented a mixture of bezoite and aerofeces with varying degrees of proximal dilation length and strong echo, significant attenuation of the posterior wall, congenital megacolon, and the diameter of the dilated bowel was 0.3-2.0 cm.With the decrease of the diameter of the tube, the intestinal segment was stiff and peristalsis was delayed.By using contrast-enhanced ultrasonography examination, the degree of spasm and stenosis of the whole colon, proximal dilation, thickening of the intestinal wall, and peristalsis of the intestinal wall could be shown.

Conclusion

Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography has obvious application effect in the diagnosis of Hirschsprung′s disease in children, which can not only clearly reflect the disease degree of children, but also provide help for the formulation of treatment plan for the disease.
