Abstract:

Objective

To explore the effect of acupotomy regulation of sympathetic nervous on gastric function and ulcer healing in elderly gastric ulcer patients.

Methods

A single center, prospective, randomized controlled cohort study was used.A total of 112 elderly patients with gastric ulcer in Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into control group(56 cases)and research group(56 cases)according to the random number table method. The control group received conventional Western medicine treatment. On the basis of the control group, the research group received acupotomy regulation of sympathetic nerve therapy. The Helicobacter pylori(Hp)negative conversion, gastric function, ulcer healing, serum inflammatory factors, and adverse reactions between the two groups were compared.

Results

The research group was significantly better than the control group in terms of treatment effectiveness, with statistically significant difference(94.64% vs.80.36%, P<0.05). The negative conversion rate of Hp in the research group(87.50%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(71.43%), with statistically significant difference(P<0.05). After treatment, the gastric emptying time, gastric antral contraction frequency, cholecystokinin, gastrin, motilin, ulcer healing indicators, inflammatory indicators TNF-α, trefoil factor 2(TFF2), IL-4 and IL-8 in the research group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the research group was 16.07%, slightly higher than the control group′s 12.50%, but there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).

Conclusion

The application of acupotomy regulation of sympathetic nerves in elderly gastric ulcer patients can improve treatment effectiveness, improve gastric function and ulcer healing, and promote the recovery of serum inflammatory factor indicators.
