Abstract:
Objective To investigate the influence of psychological intervention on treatment adherence and treatment effect of patients with chronic hepatitis B.
Methods One hundred patients with chronic hepatitis B were randomly divided into intervention group(n=50)and control group(n=50)using random number table method from August 2012 to July 2014 in Tai′an Central Hospital.The control group underwent conventional hepatoprotective and antiviral therapy.Intervention group underwent conventional therapy and psychological intervention.The major psychological intervention methods for patients with hepatitis B included knowledge propaganda and psychological counseling, and communication with patients with enthusiasm sincere attitude.Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze the difference of treatment adherence such as prescribed medication, regular reexamination and change of unhealthy life styles between the two groups.Two independent-samples T test was used to analyze the difference of liver function between the two groups.
Results Before psychological intervention, there was no difference in the treatment adherence and therapeutic effect between the two groups(P>0.05). After psychological intervention, the treatment adherence of intervention group such as prescribed medication, regular reexamination and change of unhealthy life styles improved(P<0.05), and the liver function of intervention group such as transaminase and bilirubin also improved(P<0.05).
Conclusion Psychological intervention on the basis of conventional drug treatment can significantly improve the treatment adherence and therapeutic effect of chronic hepatitis B patients.
