To explore the combined effect of self-made traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)prescription(Xue′an Weikang)and Western medicine in the clinical treatment of upper gastrointestinal bleeding.

Methods

A total of 100 patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding admitted to Shouguang People′s Hospital from April 2020 to September 2021 were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups with 50 cases in each group by random number table method. The control group was treated with conventional Western medicine, and the study group was treated with self-made TCM prescription(Xue′an Weikang)combined with Western medicine. The therapeutic effect, adverse reactions and related clinical indicators of the two groups were compared.

Results

The total effective rate in the study group(98.00%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(88.00%)(P<0.05). The TCM syndrome score of the study group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions in the study group(6.00%)was significantly lower than that in the control group(16.00%)(P<0.05). The symptom improvement time of patients in the study group was significantly shorter than that in the control group, and the rebleeding rate(2.00%)was significantly lower than that in the control group(10.00%)(P<0.05).

Conclusion

The self-made TCM prescription(Xue′an Weikang)combined with Western medicine has outstanding clinical effects in the treatment of patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding. It can not only improve the overall treatment efficiency, promote the rapid disappearance of clinical symptoms, but also significantly reduce the adverse drug reactions, and the combined effect is outstanding.
