Abstract:

Gastric variceal bleeding(GVB)is a common cause of upper gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with liver cirrhosis. With a lower incidence and higher mortality than esophageal variceal bleeding(EVB), GVB is more severe. Thus, prevention and treatment of GVB is very important. There are several approaches to GVB treatment, such as drugs, endoscopic treatment, interventional and surgical operation, which improve the survival rate of patients. This article reviews the current status and progress of drug, endoscope and interventional treatment for GVB.
