Abstract:
Objective To observe the diagnostic accuracy of Helicobacter pylori(Hp)rapid urease test(RUT)for different observation time, so as to provide reference for clinical and scientific research in the future.
Methods A total of 58 patients who were admitted to Sichuan Science City Hospital from January to December 2022 and did not take proton pump inhibitors within 2 weeks and antibiotics within 4 weeks and required gastroscopy were selected. They all participated RUT, 13C urea breath test and endoscopic Hp diagnosis. When the results of 13C urea breath test and endoscopic Hp diagnostic test were consistent, the consistent result served as the gold standard. The diagnostic accuracies of RUT in different observation time were compared and the optimal observation time of RUT was observed.
Results A total of 58 patients were included, including 32 Hp positive cases and 26 Hp negative cases. The positive accuracies of 32 Hp positive cases accepted RUT were 75%, 87.5%, 93.7%, 100%, 100% and 100% in 1 minute, 3 minutes, 6 minutes, 9 minutes, 12 minutes and 15 minutes, respectively. The accuracies of 26 cases of Hp negative cases were 53.85%, 69.23%, 80.77%, 92.31%, 100% and 100%, respectively. For patients with false positives or false negatives in 1 minute and 3 minutes, the RUT dipstick pictures of different times were tested for blind judgment by doctors with different professional titles, and the results showed no significant difference between doctors at the same time point(P>0.05).
Conclusion Prolonging the observation time can increase the diagnostic accuracy of RUT, and the optimal observation time of RUT test is 9-12 minutes, which can reduce the incidence of both false positive and false negative results. The accuracy of RUT is not affected by the professional title of the detected doctors.
