Analysis of the causes of weight regain after bariatric metabolic surgery and new progress in treatment

Abstract:

Bariatric metabolic surgery has been developed for decades since its inception in the 1950s and has become the most effective surgical intervention for the treatment of obesity and related complications.However, with the passage of time, some patients experienced postoperative re-obesity.The causes of re-obesity include the choice of operation, mental factors and patient compliance.In view of the phenomenon of postoperative obesity, the current treatment methods are divided into psychological and behavioral intervention, diet control, pharmacological intervention, endoscopic intervention and surgical revision.This article reviews the causes and further treatment of weight regain after bariatric metabolic surgery through literature review.
