Abstract:

Objective

To explore the efficacy and safety of racecadotril and clostridium butyricum in acute rotavirus diarrhea.

Methods

From June 2017 to June 2018, 100 children with acute rotavirus diarrhea diagnosed and treated in People′s Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region were selected, and all the patients were divided into control group(50 cases)and observation group(50 cases)using the random number table method. The patients in control group were given conventional treatment such as antivirus, fluid infusion and acid-base balance correction, and the patients in observation group were treated with racecadotril and clostridium butyrate on this basis. The curative effect, symptoms change after treatment, tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-6(IL-6), endotoxin level before and after treatment and adverse reactions during treatment were compared between the two groups.

Results

The total therapeutic efficiency in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group(98% vs.78%; χ2=5.892, P=0.014). Duration of diarrhea, hospitalization, fever and vomiting in observation group were significantly less than those in the control group(t=13.875, 12.438, 7.348, 9.382; P=0.000, 0.007, 0.012, 0.008), and the patients who requiring intravenous fluid infusion and remaining diarrhea after 7 days of treatment were significantly less in observation group(t=5.005, 5.982; P=0.025, 0.014). After treatment, TNF-α, IL-6 and endotoxin in peripheral blood of observation group were significantly lower than those of control group(t=5.619, 7.838, 4.169; P=0.000, 0.000, 0.001). The incidence of adverse reactions in observation group was significantly lower than that in control group(18.00% vs.4.00%; χ2=5.005, P=0.025).

Conclusion

The curative effect of racecadotril and clostridium butyricum in treating acute rotavirus diarrhea is remarkable. It can effectively improves symptoms and inflammation levels, and has better safety.
