Enhance the understanding of Cameron lesions by digestive endoscopist

Abstract:

Cameron lesions are not uncommon in hiatal hernias, generally presenting with upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Cameron lesions are easy to be overlooked due to the occult site, resulting in protracted bleeding in patients, which must be paid close attention to. This editorial outlines the subjects of Cameron lesion in definition, risk factors, pathophysiology, manifestations, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis, to avoid missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis.
