Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the clinical valueof CT scanningandintravenous pyelography(IVP)in diagnosing renal tuberculosis.

Methods

Studies relatedthe CT scanning and IVPin diagnosing renal tuberculosis(January 1994 to March 2020)were searched, and Meta-analysis was performed by the software RevMan(Version 5.1). Furthermore, publication bias was tested by Begg′s funnel plot and Egger′s test.

Results

Twelvepublished studies were finally included, involving 616 cases. The combined odds ratio(OR)and 95%confidence interval(CI)of the diagnostic rate of CT scanning and IVP for renal tuberculosiswas 4.96(2.20~11.22, P=0.000 1).

Conclusion

For diagnosisof renal tuberculosis, CT scanningis obviously superior to IVP.
